Preparing the academic schedule in credit hours system at AQU

Sharjah24: Within the symposiums and specialised scientific administrative courses, Professor Hassan Al-Malakh, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs, presented a training workshop on “Techniques for preparing the academic schedule in the credit hours system at Al Qasimia University (AQU) headquarters on Thursday afternoon.
The workshop was conducted in cooperation with the Center for Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness at the university with the aim of preparing advanced study schedules in accordance with the requirements of academic accreditation in teaching credit hours in accordance with the latest methods of scientific preparation for them, by investing the school day, classrooms and available laboratories.

Dr. Hassan Al-Malakh stressed that the successful academic schedule reflects the strategic vision of the university in proper planning to invest the energies of students and staff in a way that raises the educational process to the desired levels in the knowledge economy.

Dr. Al-Malakh focused on the need to adhere to the guiding plans for the study programs after ensuring that they are developed, updated and continued to be compatible with the requirements of academic accreditation, in light of the universities’ endeavor to achieve the requirements of modern flexible education balanced between the capabilities of faculty members and the needs of students, taking into account the changing circumstances affecting the educational process such as the corona phenomenon.

Dr. Al-Malakh clarified the roles of the schedule preparation team in the department, college, registration, Deanship of Academic Support Services and the Office of the Academic Vice President, then explained the pillars of the academic schedule, how to determine and distribute lecture times, and successfully manage the course registration process in the interest of students, allowing faculty members to follow up their research work. The workshop was attended by the deans of the faculties at the university, in addition to the heads of departments, the coordinator of the requirements unit, and the doctor in charge of the Quality Assurance Center at the university. The workshop included also practical training applications, with useful discussion between the lecturer and the attendees.
