Sharjah24: On Wednesday, the work of the joint international conference between Al-Wasl University in Dubai and Al Qasimia University (AQU) in Sharjah was launched under the title: (Contemporary Reality and its Impact on Sharia Sciences); In its scientific sessions, the conference discussed the impact of Sharia sciences on contemporary reality, in terms of rooting and development according to technological, cultural and economic developments.

One hundred researchers, academics and researchers in Islamic sciences representing 22 Arab and Islamic countries and from prestigious scientific institutions, institutes and research centers with an impact on research activity, participated in the conference, and witnessed the presentation of thirty-three scientific papers.

In his speech during the opening session, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Awaad Al-Khalaf, Director of Al Qasimia University and President of the conference welcomed the dignitaries from the attendees and participants, which is organised in partnership between Al Qasimia University and Al Wasl University in order to achieve strengthening the bonds of scientific and institutional cooperation between them.

He pointed out that the convening of the conference comes as a realization of the vision of Al Qasimia University, whose foundations were laid by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and founder of the University.

Al-Khalaf explained that the two universities are seeking, through the conference, to clarify the role of Sharia sciences in civilized development and intellectual and social development, and to confirm their ability to keep pace with developments, and to provide legal solutions and alternatives that are consistent with contemporary reality.
