SGMB concludes participation in Global Media Congress

Sharjah24: Because of its unique initiatives and various achievements aimed at developing the media and government communication sectors, the pavilion of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau participating in the Global Media Congress, which concluded its activities in the capital, Abu Dhabi, saw a remarkable turnout of prominent personalities and media makers from different countries around the world and visitors to the congress.
On its last day, the pavilion was visited by HE Maqsoud Kruse, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Authority, and the authority's Board of Trustees. The guests were received by the Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, Tariq Saeed Allay, and the Director, Alia Al Suwaidi. 

The Media Bureau of the Sharjah Government briefed the Chairperson of the National Human Rights Authority about its mission and future aspirations. He lauded the department for its work to improve the media atmosphere in the UAE and to empower the government communication sector both at home and abroad.

Daoud Aweys Jama, Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism for the Federal Government of Somalia, and his accompanying group paid a visit to the pavilion and voiced their gratitude for the bureau's media endeavours and leadership in the field.

With the goal of improving media cooperation, coordination, and knowledge exchange for the benefit of the media sector as a whole, the Sharjah Government Media Bureau has signed cooperation agreements with a number of authorities specialising in the media sector and government communication, as well as research agencies from within and outside the United Arab Emirates.

Allay asserted that the Sharjah Government Media Bureau's participation in the first-ever World Media Congress has yielded excellent and productive results, expanding chances for international collaboration and fulfilling the goals and hopes of the Congress's organisers.

Allay emphasised the need for media outlets to work together and share their expertise and experiences in order to foster better communication and understanding on a global scale.
Through its pavilion, the Sharjah Government Media Bureau shared stories of involvement in the government's many projects and programmes. It also showcased the work of award-winning organisations like the Dubai Police and the Abu Dhabi Pension Fund in the Sharjah Government Communication Award.

Several Spokesperson Programme participants shared their stories and the programme's insights into helping them develop their skills and prepare them to carry out their responsibilities to the greatest possible levels 

To ensure that the official spokespersons certified by Sharjah government institutions can carry out their duties effectively, the Sharjah Government Media Bureau has adopted integrated, comprehensive, practical, and theoretical training programmes.
Through the Sharjah Government Media Bureau's pavilion, the news website "Sharjah 24" shared its media experience and provided an overview of the organisation's current and future endeavours.

Following participation in the Career Shadowing Project, a number of participants reflected on their experiences, discussing how the training had helped them gain experience in a variety of work duties and provided them with information and expertise that improved their professional performance.
 
Visitors to the pavilion participated in a game designed by the government communication department to test their understanding of the field, promote its culture, and highlight the role it plays in the formation of communities and the implementation of improvement initiatives.

To further strengthen media awareness among the younger generation and introduce them to the concepts of journalistic and media work, the Sharjah Press Club, in collaboration with a number of leading institutions and personalities in the sector, presented the experiences of participants in the "Ithmar" programme at the pavilion.

The participants spoke highly of the programme's ability to foster media talents, release pent-up energy, teach them the fundamentals of content production, and improve their presenting and photographing skills.

During its three-day participation in the World Media Congress organised by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) in partnership with the Emirates News Agency (WAM) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, the Media Bureau of the Government of Sharjah showcased the Emirate of Sharjah's experiences, initiatives, and programmes related to the media and government communication sectors.
