Sharjah24: Under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) holds an opening ceremony of the Kalba Beach Games, in its second edition, on Friday evening, November 11.
The ceremony will be attended by Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler’s Office in Khorfakkan; Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Ruler’s Office in Kalba; and Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the SSC.
The total prizes for the games are half a million dirhams.
The ceremony will kick off at 7:30 pm on Kalba Beach. The Kalba Beach Games will include seven tournaments in football, basketball, volleyball, rowing, badminton, triathlon, and self-defense sports (Taekwondo, Jujitsu, Karate, Judo, and wrestling). The games will continue until Friday, November 18.
The opening ceremony will include various fun activities for the crowd. In addition, the Arab Federation for Sports Culture delegation and the ceremony sponsor will be honoured along with the official opening of the games, accompanied by a fireworks show.
