Sharjah 24:The Sharjah Government Media Bureau's (SGMB) "Sharjah Events" website is hosting the first edition of the Padel Tennis Championship, which will be held from April 18 to 22 under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council. At Sharjah's Padel Point stadiums, men and women from the government are encouraged to play.

Padel Tennis is one of the sports that has recently evolved and is in great demand from society and athletes, and the event seeks to enhance interdependence between government agencies and institutions in the Emirate, foster collaboration, and build a strong and united society.

 Alia Al Suwaidi, Director of SGMB confirmed that the wide spread of this sport in the country is primarily due to the unlimited support provided by wise leadership to the sports and youth sectors, as well as the provision of infrastructure and facilities to sports organisations and investors for the establishment of "Paddle Tennis" stadiums in various regions of the emirate, which led to an increase in the number of tournaments and players participating in them.

Al Suwaidi said that the Sharjah Government Media Bureau wants to encourage and promote a more active, healthy, and happy way of life for everyone in society through this tournament, and she praised the role of the "Sharjah Events" website for organising these kinds of events that show how the website is doing its part for the community.
