Sharjah 24: Sharjah Charity International (SCI) reported completing 273 educational buildings outside the UAE in the last year (2023), including classrooms, schools, and significant educational centres, as part of the "Let's Learn" project.
The programme aims to improve educational infrastructure by constructing centres and classrooms, equipping them with computers, and funding teacher salaries in nations with insufficient financial resources.

The association's aim is to provide a conducive atmosphere for students to get the knowledge required for self-sufficiency while also developing conscious personalities capable of serving and enhancing their communities and nations.

According to Ali Al Rashidi, Head of Resources and Investment at Sharjah Charity International (SCI), the association built 273 educational facilities last year for a total of 10.8 million dirhams.

The facilities are planned to serve over 10,000 students per year, underscoring their relevance in providing learning opportunities for children in rural villages across Asia, Africa, and Europe.

He also emphasised the association's monitoring efforts to guarantee that the facilities are completed and delivered on schedule, as well as regular maintenance to ensure their effectiveness.

The association's objective is to create an appropriate environment for students to complete their education, particularly those living in distant areas in developing and disadvantaged communities where formal educational institutions are scarce. The association creates schools and classrooms with learning resources such as computers and facilities that encourage children to achieve academically, thanks to donor support.

Furthermore, Al Rashidi stated that the association is initiating an educational project in partnership with Al-Qasimia University in many African countries with the goal of improving and disseminating Quranic sciences programmes using modern methodologies and a well-thought-out curriculum.

Another comparable project is being discussed in partnership with Dubai Islamic Bank, highlighting the association's major efforts to expand education in remote parts of countries receiving external aid.

Al Rashidi extended heartfelt gratitude to the donors who helped fund educational projects, recognising their critical role in extending students' learning journeys.

He also praised the cooperation of the embassies in the nations participating in the association's programs and the association's offices for their crucial role in project implementation and monitoring, which guarantees that donors' donations reach the intended recipients.
