Sharjah 24: Heritage researcher Fahd Al Maamari, Chairman of the Emirates Library and Information Association, pointed out that His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, launched an initiative to honour Emirati writers, declaring May 26 of each year as a day to celebrate it coinciding with the date of the founding of the Emirates Writers Union in 1984.
The programme "Emirates... Events and History," presented by "Sharjah 24," reviews historical events that took place in the UAE during the holy month of Ramadan, in 8 episodes, published twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays of each week.

The seventh episode reviews the first Emirati Writer’s Day celebration, which coincided with the blessed month of Ramadan in 2019.

Heritage researcher Fahd Al Maamari, Chairman of the Emirates Library and Information Association, highlighted that the celebration of the Emirati writer witnessed the largest book signing ceremony at that time at the Sharjah Book Authority, and this celebration still takes place every year.
