SPWD participates in "Khattar Al-Dar" initiative

Sharjah24: In collaboration with the Sharjah Volunteering Centre, affiliated with the Department of Social Services, the Sharjah Public Works Department (SPWD) participated in the "Khattar Al-Dar" initiative. This initiative provides a unique opportunity for individuals to interact with elderly residents at the Elderly Care Home during the holy month of Ramadan.
A delegation from the Department arrived at the Elderly Home before Iftar time to engage in conversations with the residents, followed by gathering around the Iftar table. The Department's delegation included several employees. Upon concluding their visit, the delegation members kindly presented the residents with thoughtful souvenir gifts, expressing their sincere wishes for their ongoing health, safety, and overall well-being.

The delegation members praised the significant care provided by the institution for the elderly, covering different areas of care including healthcare, social welfare, psychological well-being, and spiritual guidance. They highlighted the significant impact this initiative has on the institution's residents, as well as on volunteers and visitors.

As part of its ongoing commitment to the community and fostering social unity, the Sharjah Public Works Department, in partnership with the Community Police in Dibba Al-Hisn, provided Iftar meals in the area surrounding Sheikh Rashid Al Qasimi Mosque. This initiative is a testament to the commitment towards promoting humanitarian values and spreading goodwill during this month. The department's employees and engineers actively took part in an initiative that aimed to foster cooperation and symbolise the values of humanity and solidarity within the community.
