March 02, 2024 / 10:31 PM
Sharjah24: Sheikh Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, a passionate screenwriter and filmmaker based in the United Arab Emirates, shared his experience during his workshops at the International Photography Festival “Xposure” in Sharjah.
With a profound dedication to storytelling and character exploration, Sheikh Ahmed has honed his craft over the years, dedicating two years to refining his comedic improvisational skills and immersing himself in the world of film for three years, exploring roles in acting, writing, directing, and editing.

He wrote and directed two amateur short films: “I Hate Bananas”, nominated for Best Film Shot on the Phone, and “SMOKE”.

He stated, during his interview with “Sharjah 24”, that he recently conducted a workshop on the technical aspects of cinematography and editing. Currently, he is working with the Sharjah Performing Arts Academy, an institution that specializes in teaching performing arts and production techniques in Sharjah.

When it comes to making a short film, there are a few technical tips that can help filmmakers create a successful production. However, it's also important to focus on creating content that aligns with ones personal beliefs and values. He encourages filmmakers to also consider the importance of authenticity and staying true to their own vision. Additionally, it's worth noting that there is a need for more Emirati and Arab filmmakers in the industry who can bring a unique perspective to the table.
