Sharjah 24: On Sunday, January 14, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, Al Dhaid Camel Racing Field hosted a new and exciting race for two-year-old camels (Al Fatameen).

The Sharjah Camel Racing Club organised and oversaw the race.

The competitions, which were attended by camel owners and aficionados, included 14 rounds covering a distance of 1500 metres.

Matar Ali bin Howaiden Al Ketbi, President of the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, thanked His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for his ongoing interest in camel racing and the festivals hosted by the Sharjah Camel Racing Club throughout the year.

He highlighted that His Highness's support helps to create a unique model for recognising true national tradition, instilling it in the hearts of future generations, and safeguarding the sport of fathers and grandfathers.
