Sharjah Sports Council elevates athlete skills

Sharjah24: Involving a total of 413 participants, the Sharjah Sports Council orchestrated preparatory programmes in table tennis, handball, and swimming. These initiatives were strategically designed to elevate the competencies and performance levels of the athletes.

Here are the outcomes for each of these programmes:

Table Tennis:

A youth championship was held at Al Dhaid Club, where 20 players participated. Issac Ahmed from Dibba Al-Hisn secured the top position, with Salem Obaid from Al Madam coming in second.

An instructional course for juniors encompassed 80 participants, segregated into two groups. The first group comprised clubs from Dibba Al-Hisn and Khorfakkan, hosted at Khorfakkan, while the second group consisted of Al Madam and Al Dhaid clubs, conducted in Al Madam.

Additionally, a singles course targeting juniors and young players took place at Al Madam Club, with 33 participants representing clubs from Al Madam, Al Dhaid, Al Bataeh, Dibba Al-Hisn, and Dibba Al-Fujairah as a guest participant. Hamdan Saeed (Al Madam) secured the first position for juniors, followed by Ma'id Nawaf (Dibba Al-Fujairah).

At the Sharjah Sports Club, a programme aimed at nurturing young talents unfolded, with the participation of 30 players representing clubs from Sharjah, Al Madam, Al Dhaid, Dibba Al-Hisn, Khorfakkan, and Al Bataeh. Mohammed Yousuf (Sharjah) clinched the first place, while Ghaith Badr secured the second position.

Handball:

Preparatory courses were organised for various age groups, including youth, juniors, and young adults, involving a total of 280 participants. These players represented eight different clubs, namely Sharjah, Al Bataeh, Maliha, Al Madam, Al Dhaid, Khorfakkan, Ittihad Kalba, and Dibba Al-Hisn. The teams were grouped and engaged in competitive activities spanning three days across sports venues in Sharjah, Al Bataeh, Al Madam, Khorfakkan, and Kalba.

Swimming:

Comprehensive preparatory sessions were meticulously arranged, bringing together 70 swimmers from five clubs: Sharjah, Al Hamriyah, Maliha, Al Dhaid, and Dibba Al-Hisn. These gatherings were orchestrated with the overarching goal of enhancing the swimmers' skills, refining their physical conditioning, establishing tailored dietary plans, and fortifying their mental readiness.
