Sharjah 24: Al Hamriyah Municipality hosted a series of engaging activities and programmes in light of the World Environment Day.

The events and initiatives were carefully designed to cater to all visitors and tourists at Al Hamriyah Beach Park. Coinciding with the global observance on June 5th each year, the main objective was to raise awareness about the significance of environmental protection and the sustainable preservation of natural resources and biodiversity.

The municipality emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing crucial environmental issues and preserving the environment while ensuring the sustainability of resources. Under the theme of "Beating Plastic Pollution," a variety of beach activities were organised, accompanied by exciting competitions and educational workshops. These included bag coloring, recycling, and a captivating treasure hunt, greatly enjoyed by children and participants alike.

His Excellency Mubarak Rashed Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality affirmed that the municipality annually celebrates the World Environment Day. The municipality's dedicated teams orchestrate enlightening initiatives and events to instill the concept of a sustainable environment and the significance of environmental conservation. These engaging initiatives foster active participation from community members, children, and visitors at Al Hamriyah Beach Park. Through recreational, creative, and environmental workshops, they not only entertained but also educated individuals of all ages on the importance of recycling and the various ways it can be beneficial.
