Sharjah24: The Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club announced the organisation of the "Al Faya Jiu-Jitsu" championship on February 4, under the patronage of the Sharjah Sports Council, the supervision of the UAE Jiu Jitsu Federation, and in cooperation with the Team Nogueira Fighting Club.

The competitions will be held in the Al Faya area in Sharjah, with the participation of about 200 players.

Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Owais, Chairman of the Club, stated that the establishment of this championship comes in implementation of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, that sports be an ideal lifestyle, which is why the club continues to spread the culture of self-defense sports.

The tournament is the first to be held outdoors, stressing that the Sports Training Department has been instructed to secure all elements of its success and reach full readiness in order to create a distinctive competitive atmosphere.
