Workshop on healthy habits, tour of Mleiha for GCN’s members

Sharjah 24: The Government Communication Department of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau organised Thursday, a special interactive workshop on healthy habits at the Mleiha Archaeological Centre, as part of a leisure and tourism day for members of the Government Communication Network (GCN), employed in various government departments and institutions in the Emirate.
The event is part of the targeted monthly meetings to support the professional capabilities and skills of GCN members.
 
The interactive workshop demonstrated that in order to enhance performance and efficiency as well as achieve career goals, it is important to build a culture of physical and psychological health among workers because of its positive impact on their performance, focus and productivity. 

The workshop presented a scientific vision of the methods of moving from setting goals to implementation through the formation of positive habits in the work and home environments that contribute to maintaining health and reducing negative feelings and stressful situations for the individual.

It offered creative ideas on how to develop positive habits and implement them in practice, emphasised the importance of following a healthy diet, enough exercise and getting ideal sleep.

Focus on employees’ skills, wellbeing
Huda Al Dah, Manager of the Government Communication Department at the SGMB, said: "The monthly meetings of the GCN bring together government communication professionals in various Sharjah government institutions in an innovative way in order to develop the skills and capabilities of our members. These initiatives and workshops targeting various fields are aimed at enhance the role of government communication departments in the emirate and improve media content.”

Al Dah added, "Our training programmes make use of the best international practices in developing the government communication system in the Emirate, and deal with a range of interactive activities and review successful models and ideas that are of interest to every employee.”

The interactive workshop suggested practical ways and mechanisms of bridging the gap between the intention to achieve the goal and its implementation. The workshop also explained ways of ensuring the employees’ physical and psychological wellbeing by breaking the daily routine. 

On this occasion, the SGMB also organised a tour of the Mleiha Archaeological Centre besides a desert safari experience for the members.
