Czech President receives Saqr Ghobash

Sharjah 24 – WAM: Miloš Zeman, President of the Czech Republic, today received Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), and his delegation currently visiting the Czech Republic.
During the meeting, Ghobash conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to President Zeman and the Czech people on the occasion of the Czech Republic’s 104th National Day and their wishes of further development and prosperity for the Czech Republic.

In turn, President Zeman conveyed his greetings to the UAE leaders and wished them prolonged health, and further development and prosperity for the UAE.

He went on to welcome the visit of Ghobash and his delegation, highlighting its importance to enhancing the cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of strengthening UAE-Czech relations, stressing their parliaments' important role in enhancing their ties.

They also discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern, highlighting the importance of achieving global peace, security and stability.

Ghobash said that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed, has always been keen to boost its ties with the Czech Republic, which date back three decades and have witnessed considerable advancement, most notably in economic, political and cultural areas.

The economic cooperation between the two countries has grown significantly, especially since the signing of an economic cooperation agreement in January 2022, he added, affirming that the UAE is the second leading non-European trade partners of the Czech Republic after China.

The meeting was attended by a delegation comprising several FNC members.
