Ghobash, Czech Senate President strengthening parliamentary coop

Sharjah 24 – WAM: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), met with Miloš Vystrčil, President of the Czech Senate, during his official visit to the Czech Republic as head of a parliamentary delegation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Vystrčil welcomed Ghobash and his accompanying delegation, highlighting the long-standing UAE-Czech relations across various fronts.

The two sides discussed ways to strengthen parliamentary cooperation through exchanging visits and enhancing coordination and consultation on various issues of common interest.

They also underscored the importance of unifying positions, visions on various issues of interest across various regional and international parliamentary forums, as well as exchanging experience, knowledge and parliamentary practices, in line with the steadily growing relations between the two countries.

The two sides also affirmed the importance of strengthening the role of parliamentarians in combating terrorism, supporting the efforts of governments to mitigate the repercussions of humanitarian crises, and enhancing cooperation across various fields.

Ghobash pointed to President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's statements during the recent G20 meeting in the Indonesian city of Bali that the UAE has a clear, ambitious, and detailed goal for facing the phenomena of climate change and transitioning to renewable energy, not only at the national level, but also at the worldwide level by being a safe and reliable source of global energy and leading the pack of nations promoting the use of clean and renewable energy sources. The Emirates has made investments totaling $50 billion in this field in more than 40 different nations, and it plans to make more than $100 billion in the upcoming years, he added, citing the UAE's president.
