Sharjah24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, inaugurated on Wednesday, the library of Fine Arts and Design College (FADC) at the University of Sharjah.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed toured the corridors of the library to review its departments, services and its various scientific contents, which were developed to keep pace with the increase in the number of students enrolled in the college and the increasing need for specialized sources and references in all its forms, and to support the college’s academic programs, scientific research and continuing education.
The library of Fine Arts and Design College is a specialized and comprehensive library, with a distinctive design, where the idea of its design is based on the Ghaf tree for its symbolism in people gathering around it and sheltering in its shadows.

The library includes various sources and references in addition to a distinctive mural, which was written on it one of the His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah words ,"The book is the essence of culture, science and knowledge."
The library accommodates more than 100 students, and has a wireless and advanced technological environment. It also contains computers, a multimedia hall, classrooms for groups, and spaces for working on projects.
The Internet services in the library are linked to the University of Sharjah's multiple libraries network, which enables faculty and students of the college to access all electronic information sources in the library, exchange information, and attend courses offered remotely.

The library of Fine Arts and Design College at the University of Sharjah includes print and electronic resources, where the number of printed books exceeds 12,000 distributed over various academic programs, and the number of e-books is 8000.
On the sidelines of the inauguration of the library, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi toured the corridors of the Fine Arts and Design College, where he visited a number of its laboratories and classrooms to review the latest educational methods and various facilities that support the theoretical and practical education process.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed was also briefed on a variety of artworks made by students of the college, which are the results of their study in the various majors of the college, such as the programs of interior design, visual communication, fashion design and textiles.
