Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) held community programmes to raise awareness of high blood pressure on the International Day of Hypertension, which falls on the seventeenth of May every year.

Dr. Fikri El Deeb, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at NMC Hospital, gave a virtual lecture to Department's personnel, emphasising the need of paying attention to lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits that increase the risk of high blood pressure.

Maryam Al Qatari, Director of the Sharjah Elderly Care House, emphasised the house's commitment to community participation in various events, as well as its willingness to be close to the public, familiarise them with the department's services, and contribute to local and international activities and events.
