SCC’s Family Affairs reviews Sharjah youth’s efforts

Sharjah24: The Family Affairs Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) was briefed on the various roles played by “Sharjah youth” to create an integrated environment to receive children and polish their talents, as well as the programs and initiatives implemented by them that enhance the thought and culture of youth and their role in building their successful personality.
This came during the committee’s visit as part of its work for the third regular session of the tenth legislative term for Sharjah Youth of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for the Industry of Leaders and Innovators at the headquarters of the Wasit Youth Center in the city of Sharjah. 

The committee's delegation included  Fatima Ali Al-Muhairi, chairperson of the committee;  Jassim Juma Al-Mazmi, the committee's rapporteur;  Dr. Muhammad Al-Murr and  Mohamed Abdullah Al-Raisi, and from the General Secretariat of the Council, Secretary Huda Al-Hammadi.

SCC’s delegation was received by Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Yasi, Director of Sharjah Youth Development;  Omar Al Midfa, Director of the Institutional Support Department; Abdul Hamid Al Yasi, Director of the Youth Welfare Department; Fatima Al Balushi, Director of the Strategy and Institutional Excellence Office, and Hussein Al Mulla, Director of the Wasit Youth Center.

At the beginning of the visit, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Yasi welcomed the delegation, praising their relentless efforts and their continuous communication with all parties, and their keenness to visit Sharjah’s youth to get acquainted with their efforts in caring young people and the events and programs it offers.

After that, an illustrated material was presented about the most prominent plans and programs of Sharjah's youth, and the activities it implements through its continuous activities.

During the meeting, the committee discussed various attractive environment that Sharjah youth provides for children and their role in nurturing the talented, according to initiatives that implement the directives and visions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife, Sheikha Jawaher Bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators.

The officials reviewed the Sharjah Youth Foundation’s efforts in caring for youth by offering many programs and benefits offered to its affiliates, for example, the membership and loyalty system under the name (Himma), in addition to programs specialized in programming, as in the programmer of the century project, other than activities, sports, and opportunities to benefit from arts programs. Performance, such as the Al Furjan Theater program and specialized workshops in the life skills track within the “Design and Ibn” program, which aims to teach them home maintenance skills in a creative and innovative way, and many more.

After that, the committee toured the facilities of the Wasit Center as one of the vital centers of talent halls and put forward sports programs as in the bow and arrow, programming and robot activity, and they learned about the role of the emerging centers in teaching young people improvisation, rhetoric, digital interaction and other rich activities implemented.
