Sharjah 24: During a visit to the University of Sharjah (UoS), the Sharjah Consultative Council's (SCC) Education, Culture, Youth, and Media Affairs Committee was briefed on the university's future goals as well as its academic status locally and abroad. Dr Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University, and his team, welcomed the committee cordially.

The SCC's Chairman, Vice-President of the Council, Secretary-General, and other members congratulated the University of Sharjah, praising the university's academic excellence; thanks to the support and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

The UoS Chancellor welcomed the Advisory Council delegation from the Education, Culture, Youth, and Media Affairs Committee on behalf of the university's staff, scientists, researchers, and students, and explained that the University of Sharjah sustained its distinguished mission in scientific research, and learning, and has achieved first position at the national level in scientific research according to the international index, and it has been ranked among the top 100 emerging universities. 

The committee discussed with the Chancellor and his assistants the plans to provide a variety of innovative programmes in line with international trends and labour market demands.
