Sharjah 24: Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club organised Al Hamriyah International Blitz Chess Championship, which lasted until the early hours of Tuesday, in the club's sports hall.

The tournament was organised in cooperation with the Sharjah Cultural and Chess Club and under the auspices of Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), with the participation of more than 100 players representing 20 countries.

Engineer Ali Al Muhairi, member of the Board of Directors of Al Hamriyah Club and head of the club's cultural and community committee, said that the turnout was great for the tournament with a high level of participation.

The international professor Omar Noman Al Ali, Assistant Secretary-General of the Sharjah Cultural and Chess Club, thanked His Excellency Juma Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Hamriyah Club, and all club officials for their success in organising the tournament.

The "Basag" team from the Philippines won the first place, followed by its compatriot "Bok Noi", while "Yuai Mo" of the Sharjah Club ranked third.

Cups and medals were distributed to the winners, in addition to financial prizes amounting to 5000 dirhams, in a spirit of high sportsmanship and a consensus of all on the success of the tournament by all standards.
