Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs (SDIA) announced the allocation of 601 mosques for the Tahajjud prayer (an optional and supererogatory prayer performed during the night after waking up from sleep).
SDIA said that it has raised its readiness in all mosques of the emirate, especially in the main mosques, in cooperation with the Sharjah Police, Sharjah Municipality, and the Sharjah Volunteer Centre, to provide a spiritual atmosphere all means of comfort and tranquility for the worshipers.

The department indicated that the maintenance teams affiliated with SDIA and inspectors carry out field and inspection tours to see and meet the needs of the Tahajjud mosques, especially those that witness a large turnout of worshipers.

SDIA has allocated a number of volunteers, in cooperation with the Sharjah Volunteer Centre of the Sharjah Social Services Department, to oversee the organisation of the process of entering and exiting worshipers from mosques  during the prayers, and following up on the adherence of worshipers to preventive and precautionary measures.
