Uzbek Yakubiyev champion of Sharjah blitz chess championship

Sharjah 24: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the 27th Sharjah International blitz chess championship concluded, with the participation of more than 200 players representing 31 countries who competed for the championship prizes totaling AED27,000, at the headquarters of Sharjah Cultural and Chess Club.
The closing ceremony and honouring of the winners were attended by Omar Noman Al Ali, Assistant Secretary-General of the club; Ihsan Turdaliev, Vice President of the Uzbek Chess Federation, Director of the Tashkent International Chess Academy; and Ragai Al Susi, Executive Director of Sharjah Cultural and Chess Club, as well as a large crowd of media professionals, pioneers and chess enthusiasts in the UAE.

Sheikh Saud Al Mualla, Chairman of the Sharjah Cultural and Chess Club, extended his thanks to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for sponsoring the championship, the club, and the Sharjah Sports Council, noting that the 27th championship achieved a high-level organisational success by attracting the best chess players in the world

The international grandmaster of Uzbekistan, Naderbek Yakubiyev, won the title of the seventh edition of the Sharjah International blitz chess championship.
