Writer Sheikha Mariam Saqr Al Qasimi confirmed that children's literature is witnessing a boom at the state level and the Emirate of Sharjah in particular, given the wise leadership's interest in promoting societal awareness of everything related to childcare and the provision of all children’s rights.

In statements to “Sharjah 24”, during her participation in the dialogue session, she said that the Emirate of Sharjah is keen to motivate and support writers of children's literature through several institutions, events and programmes.

She added that the session organised by the SBA as part of its cultural programme "Inspirers Among Us", discussed many topics related to this type of writing, the elements of attracting children to reading and children's theatre literature, in addition to other related topics.

She emphasised that families' awareness of the importance of reading to their children in all its forms develops them with the necessary knowledge and skills, and enables them to keep pace with the rapid developments in our world today, which is filled with many changes in various aspects of life.

The dialogue session, which was moderated by Abdulraouf Amira, was witnessed by His Excellency Dr. Suleiman Sarhan Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Kalba City, and Mohammed Saleh Al Suwaiji, Director of the Department of Culture’s Eastern Region, and a crowd of officials and employees of government departments in Kalba and Wadi Al Hilu.
