Sharjah 24: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the activities of the 6th edition of the Kairouan Festival of Arabic Poetry (KFAP), being organised by the House of Poetry in Kairouan, concluded, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture in Sharjah; Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs, and several other dignitaries , as well as a large number of Tunisian and Arab poets and intellectuals.

The closing day of the festival witnessed the honouring of different poets from Tunisia and various Arab countries, as well as the awarding of prizes to the winners of the House of Poetry competition for the three best poems.

Al Owais and Al Qaseer handed memorial shields to the participants and the parties who contributed in the success of the festival. They also presented prizes for the winners of the House of Poetry competition, in support of continuing poetic writing.

The poets participating in the sixth session of the Kairouan Festival of Arabic Poetry expressed their thanks to Sharjah as an incubator for every Arab creators, highlighting the importance of the initiative of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in establishing poetry houses in the Arab world.

At the closing evening, a poetry evening was organised in which several poets have participated through delivering various poems.
