Sharjah 24: Salem Al Dhanin, Head of the Agriculture and Gardens Department in the Municipality of Khorfakkan, revealed remarkable achievement rates in the work system based on the afforestation of a number of the city's mountains, beginning at the city's main entrance and continuing through the city centre to the mountains overlooking the new Khorfakkan Road.
He stated to "Sharjah 24" that on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, work is currently underway to plant and afforest approximately 16 mountains, supplementing them with hundreds of thousands of acres of green space.

He noted that afforestation included the planting of both fruitful and non-fruitful trees that are appropriate to the hilly environment.

Al Dhanin confirmed that the mountain agriculture project is a massive, ambitious, and unique undertaking in the region, as it enhances the aesthetics of the city with its picturesque nature and has a significant environmental impact, in addition to the city's tourism reflection.
