Sharjah 24: Khorfakkan is holding the meeting of the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation (IWAS), hosted by Al Thiqah Club for Handicapped and the Regional Office of IWAS.

Holding on October 8, the meeting will be attended by the Chairman and members of the Executive Office of IWAS, and Dr Tariq Sultan bin Khadem, Vice Chairman of IWAS, Vice Chairman of the UAE Paralympic Committee, and Chairman of Al Thiqah Club.

The meeting will discuss the major international benefits for IWAS, including the 2022 IWAS World Games in Sochi, Russia, the 2023 World Games in Thailand and the 2022 Beach Games in Spain. 

Bin Khadem confirmed that the hosting of IWAS meetings in Sharjah is the outcome of the UAE disabled sport’s achievements and the mark of IWAS’ confidence in Sharjah’s capabilities, stressing that this achievement is the result of the unlimited support of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and advocate for the handicapped.
