Sharjah24 : The Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) will organise "Sharjah Duathlon", on 24 September, in the University City, in cooperation with a number of government and private institutions, where registration for participation has begun via the link "www.eevents.ae/shjdua".

Speaking on the occasion, His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), emphasised that the previous sports and community events held by the council had achieved remarkable success which motivated them to launch a new sport event. 

In turn, Yasser Omar Al-Doukhi, Director of the Sports and Community Events Department, stated that the Sharjah Duathlon is a qualitative addition to the council’s activities which targets 300 participants, and will open the door to new categories of running and cycling lovers. He explained that the registration will close at the end of Wednesday, September 22, and the long-distance race will start first at 6: 10 a.m., followed by the middle distance race at 6:15, then the short distance race at 6:20.

The Duathlon is one of the compound races where the rider starts by running, then riding a bike, and then ends by running again. It is officially recognised by the International Triathlon Federation.
