MoU between SSC and Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) and Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services signed a memorandum of understanding on September 8, to support ways of cooperation and coordination between both sides and achieve common goals in the field of empowering people with disabilities.
The MoU aims at harnessing the capabilities of SSC and Sharjah sports clubs which will benefit the programmes and services provided by the city.  The MoU comes within the framework of SSC policy to cooperate with various authorities and institutions in Sharjah regarding joint initiatives, memoranda of understanding and protocols.
 
The MoU was signed by His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council, and Her Excellency Mona Abdul Karim Al Yafei, Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, in the presence of a number of officials.

The agreement concluded between the two parties aims to launch joint initiatives to achieve strategic goals; realize coordination and cooperation; organise sports events and activities; and exchange invitations in courses, training workshops, conferences, seminars and events, where the Council is committed to the societal integration of people with disabilities by involving students in sports, cultural and social activities organised by the Council with other parties; providing awareness programmes and activities for sports and community events, and coordinate with the clubs for the disabled to provide care and technical support. 
  
After signing the memorandum of understanding, His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council stated that the agreement was signed between the two parties, based on the council’s keenness to build bridges of communication with various government agencies and institutions in Sharjah in a way that contributes to the performance of its societal role in accordance with the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and the follow-up of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council.

In turn, Her Excellency Mona Abdul Karim Al Yafei, Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, praised the cooperation with the Sharjah Sports Council through the Memorandum of Understanding, which aims primarily to provide the best sports services for people with disabilities, integrating them, raising awareness of their issues, applying the principles of social responsibility and exchanging experiences between the two sides.

Her Excellency Mona Abdul Karim Al Yafei said that according to the memorandum of understanding, Sharjah students will participate in many different sports activities, and joint events.  Events will be organised and the city will provide awareness programmes and consultations for the council's employees in addition to hosting the first team players for various sports within the city's annual sports activities.
