Sharjah 24: The Asian Football Confederation announced that the Emirate of Sharjah will host China-Vietnam Match in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers as a result of the Emirate's success in hosting several international events and AFC Champions League matches following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sharjah has been designated as a neutral venue for the match, which will take place on November 7 as part of the two teams' qualifying campaigns.
