SY concludes August programmes, launches 'Future Engineers'

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Youth (SY), affiliated to the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, concluded the programmes and events of the month of August, which was full of technical and cultural educational programmes.
SY also launched the “Future Engineers - Autonomous Vehicles” programme, to qualify its members to produce their own projects using Raspberry Pi chips.

The participants in the "Film Making - Technical Processes" programme, presented by Talal Mahmoud, a filmmaker, learned how to make a film by organising the technical processes in the three stages, before, during and after filming, along with the other related topics in the technical process of filming.

The participants also learned work organisation skills, the most important cinematic terms and vocabulary, as the trainer relied on simplifying information and concepts to ensure in-depth understanding, and provided the participants with a set of valuable tips and information on shooting angles and types of shots.

In the writing workshop "From Idea to Text", which was held within the Sharjah Youth Programme for Dramatic Arts, and presented by theatre director Wael Al Maghrabi, the participants learned about the elements of theatrical text, the difference between the story and the play. In addition to theatrical dialogue and its forms, and how to write a theatrical text. 

They were also trained on how to search for creative ideas and turn them into a theatrical text, and the method of writing a theatrical dialogue between the characters and building the theatrical character by identifying the dimensions and types of the character, the monologue and the conditions for writing it while applying their acquired skills in practice.

This workshop stems from the keenness of SY to support the capabilities of young people and qualify them to participate in the writing competition for young theatre that it recently launched, and through which it targets talented and creative theatre writers aged from 10 to 35 years, as part of its focus to provide an opportunity for them to participate in theatrical scripts, which will be received until October 30, 2021.

The participants in the "EV3 Robots - The Future of Energy" programme, which is presented by Yasser Abdelmuttalib and Ahmed Saad, the science and technology facilitators in SY, were trained on the uses of the EV3 virtual program interface tools menu, and the characteristics of the project page.

The participants in the "Sports Time" programme experienced a number of sports exercises, and enjoyed the educational lectures that qualified them to make the practice of sports activities a way of life. 

A group of affiliates of SY and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah participated in a special session within the "Book Club - Read" programme, in cooperation with the UAE Board on Books for Young People, with the aim of encouraging young readers to continue reading.

The writer Manal Fahmy Mahgoub discussing the story of the “Wishing Tree” by Katherine Applegate hosted the session.

The participants trained in the “Speak to Amaze Yourself and Others” programme, which was presented by Abeer Al Matroushi, a self-discovery and talent coach, discussed ways to overcome fear of speaking according to a well-studied scientific information.
