Sharjah 24: Al Thiqah Club has launched several educational, cultural and entertainment activities for the people of disability, as part of its summer programme titled “Sharjah’s Virtual Summer… Our holiday is different”, with the participation of the members of the club.

Patronised by the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), the programme runs until August 26.

The programme covers an array of activities including memorisation and recitation of the holy Quran, Hadith, computer skills, Arabic calligraphy, handicrafts, art workshops, teaching sign language and the principles of chess.

Commenting on the programme, Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadem, Chairman of Al Thiqah Club, praised the SSC great support of the programme pointing out that the club’s cultural committee aims to develop the Disabled’s capabilities,  invest in their leisure time, instil teamwork spirit, develop intellectual skills, implant loyalty and belonging, and exploit their energies in various useful fields in an interesting and enjoyable manner.
