Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Police Headquarters, represented by the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department (SPGC), and in cooperation with the Media and Public Relations Department, organised an awareness session via the Sharjah Police Instagram account, entitled "Periodic inspection of vehicles leads to Prevention and safety", aiming to raise awareness of the importance of periodic maintenance of vehicles.

Yousuf Al Raisi, director of Government Affairs at Al Futtaim Motors, and Major Hamad Al Tunaiji, Acting Head of Technical Inspection at the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department participated in the session moderated by First Lieutenant Maneh Al Naqbi.

During the session, guests discussed several important topics, including the importance of vehicle maintenance, and the disastrous consequences that may occur as a result of direct negligence, in addition to introducing preventive and corrective maintenance. 

Guests also tackled joint efforts to enhance comprehensive traffic safety through qualitative initiatives. Initiatives included service stations providing complete vehicle inspection, in partnership with ADNOC, and the launch of the mobile vehicle inspection centre and other qualitative initiatives.

Guests confirmed the necessity of developing plans for the periodic maintenance of vehicles, to achieve traffic safety, whereas negligence leads to the occurrence of serious traffic accidents, noting that traffic safety is a must to “achieve road safety, and everyone is responsible.”
