Sharjah Police receives WHO’s delegation

During the meeting
Sharjah 24: Brigadier Abdullah Ibrahim bin Nassar, Deputy Director General of Resources and Support Services at the Sharjah Police General Command, received a delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO), at Sharjah Police Science Academy.
Dr. Samar Al Fiqi headed the delegation, with the aim of presenting the standard for emergency preparedness and response, to complete the evaluation process within the Healthy Cities Programme.

This came in the presence of the standard team represented by Colonel Youssef Al Harmoudi, Lt. Col. Hamad bin Qasmol, Lt. Col. Muhammad Al Shamsi, Lt. Col. Imad Al Morshedy, along with the rest of the team members.

Brigadier Abdullah bin Nassar stressed the keenness of the Sharjah Police General Command to adopt the standards of healthy cities issued by the World Health Organization, in accordance with the vision and directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah.

The meeting dealt with a presentation of the efforts of the Sharjah Police in various security, social, humanitarian and health aspects since the beginning of the pandemic represented by the efforts of the Local Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team headed by the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police. 

Brigadier Abdullah bin Nassar indicated the importance of the national role played by the Executive Committee to expand the scope of health in the Emirate of Sharjah, and the tasks it undertakes that represent the link between government entities and the World Health Organization, pointing to the keenness to making Sharjah a global model for healthy cities. 

On the sidelines of the meeting, the visiting delegation was briefed on a field presentation of the mechanisms, skills, and methods used by police in limiting the spread of the pandemic.

For their part, the visiting delegation thanked Brigadier General Abdullah bin Nassar for the warm reception and hospitality, expressing admiration for the preparedness and response plan, which was established by Sharjah Police.
