The second edition of the Sharjah Voluntary Work Forum was conducted on volunteer work facing COVID-19. The Forum included 3 sessions on "The Voluntary Approach in the UAE", "Institutional Models" and "Social Models".

Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work conducted 34 lectures and general awareness workshops, during 2020, for the public, partner agencies and volunteer teams introducing the Award conditions and standards.

Fatima Musa Al Balushi, Executive Director of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, said, at the beginning of each season, the Award sets a list of awareness programmes and events that promote volunteer values in society, starting with public awareness lectures targeting all segments of the society in general, as well as specialised workshops targeting specialists.

Fatima Musa Al Balushi indicated that, through these programmes, the Award seeks to attract individuals, institutions, and those willing to volunteer, which would contribute to spreading and strengthening the culture of volunteer work in the community, and providing access to volunteer opportunities and initiatives offered by government and private institutions, and voluntary teams.
