The team, supervised by the Abu Dhabi Education Council, ADEC, was accompanied by Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of the School Operations Sector in ADEC.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reviewed the important projects and ideas included in the "Sayfuna Mumayaz" programme, and its goals that are aimed to support the students’ talents by including activities that would be beneficial to the students and the community, in the scientific, artistic, athletic, cultural, and heritage fields, and strengthening and consolidating the national identity and values of the Emirati students.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed took note of the prominent activities for this year. These aim to plant the love for giving, volunteering and community service, considered to be a supreme value in the community and the main principle in the lives of the students, in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in making the year 2017 a Year of Giving, in addition to working on developing the scientific aptitude and psychological ability of the students, so that they can develop their scientific, athletic and creative abilities, and attitude through continuous participation in the programme.
Sheikh Mohamed praised the efforts made to utilise the students’ times fruitfully, especially by investing their talents in strengthening their skills and abilities and taking constructive and effective initiatives that would contribute towards strengthening the sense of national identity, loyalty and belonging, and consolidate the noble cultural values of the community. His Highness called on the families to achieve integration through such national projects and to co-operate with them until the national goals are achieved.
His Highness stressed that the "Sayfuna Mumayaz" programme and other similar initiatives were important to provide the youth with opportunities in the future.
His Highness called on the students to form their ambitions by preserving the values and noble customs of the UAE community and to invest this opportunity to build fortresses of knowledge and strengthen the stature of the country at international events.
"Sayfuna Mumayaz" supports the talents of the students by utilising the summer vacation to conduct programmes, such as summer centres, jiu-jitsu, pools, challenge summer, and Mihnaty (My Job), in addition to the "My Identity" programme, which introduces them to the concept of national and heritage identity represented in the values, customs and traditions of the Emirati community. It helps develop the sense of loyalty and belonging to the nation, and the wise leadership through community and voluntary service, as envisioned in the Year of Giving 2017.
