The idea is for Chief Happiness and Positivity Officers to offer free counsel to government and private institutions, where they share the experience and best practices they learned at the training sessions organised by the National Happiness and Positivity Programme. This provides guidance and support for these institutions as they go about establishing positive work environments that ensure the happiness of employees, as well as customer satisfaction.
“The ‘Happiness without Borders’ initiative follows the UAE’s general trajectory, which prioritises education and training to empower the national workforce and involve them in government programmes,” said Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness. “The initiative also bears testament to the success of the training programme for Chief Happiness and Positivity Officers, whose role was always intended to go beyond their respective organisations to target society as a whole.”
The Minister of State applauded the Chief Happiness and Positivity Officers who developed the initiative, urging them to continue along the same path and undertake more projects that seek to make a difference in society – especially during the Year of Giving 2017.
The initiative includes interactive workshops rooted in science that offer support for institutions looking to establish happiness and positivity as corporate culture. It connects these entities to certified experts from the National Happiness and Positivity Programme, who play an advisory role as the institutions set strategies to spread happiness among employees, customers and society at large.
Chief Happiness and Positivity Officer at the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) Salah Al Hashimi noted that, “The team behind the ‘Happiness without Borders’ initiative sought to use the experience and knowledge we acquired at the training sessions organised by the National Happiness and Positivity Programme, and pass them along to organisations across the UAE to promote happiness and support the nation-wide Year of Giving initiative.”
The team behind ‘Happiness without Borders’ is made up of ten Chief Happiness and Positivity Officers, namely: Salah Al Hashimi, Government Communication Director at the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR); Mohammed Al Matroushi, Director of the Media and Communication Department at the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA); Ahlam Al Feel, Director of Corporate Communications at the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA); Khulood Al Rustamani, Chief Happiness and Positivity Officer at the Federal Demographic Council (FDC); Moza Al Fardh, Human Resources Director at the Ministry of Justice; Mouza Kiaf, Deputy Director of Strategy and the Future at the Ministry of Finance; Nasser Al Rashedi, Director of Space Policies and Legislation at the UAE Space Agency; Ruqayya Alblooshi, Head of Government Identity & Events at the General Secretariat of the UAE Cabinet; Shaikha Al Ali, Head of the Customer Happiness Office at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment; and Tarek Al Janahi, Deputy CEO of the Dubai Statistics Center (DSC).
