President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi welcomed Sheikh Mohamed and exchanged with him greetings on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
Sheikh Mohamed conveyed to President el-Sisi greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his wishes of further progress and prosperity to the brotherly people of Egypt.
The meeting, attended by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, also reviewed means of strengthening relations in a way that will serve the common interests of the two brotherly peoples. The two sides also discussed bilateral cooperation and coordination, especially on political, economic and developmental fields.
Sheikh Mohamed said the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen on enhancing fraternal bonds with Egypt, to serve common interests and to strengthen regional security and stability.
He referred to the rising threat of terrorism in the region and in the whole world which requires all Arab countries to unify their ranks in the face of this phenomenon that seeks to undermine the gains of the peoples and to jeopardise their right for security, stability and development.
He further said that the UAE is keen on strengthening cooperation with Egypt and other Arab brethren to bolster regional stability and to confront suspicious agenda, designed to create chaos in the region and to threaten peace and security of the Arab peoples.
President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said he was pleased to meet His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and praised his country's excellent relations with the UAE.
He also expressed thanks to the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, for its stances in support of Egypt and its people.
He applauded the role played by the UAE in boosting the joint Arab action and expressed Egypt's determination to continue developing bilateral ties in different domains.
The two sides lauded the strong ties between the UAE and Egypt, thanks to their mutual determination to continue their fraternal and mutually beneficial cooperation.
They also affirmed continuous coordination and consultation on the regional issues, especially at this critical time of rising challenges and threats. They stressed the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to fight terrorism in all its forms and to eliminate terrorism and dry up its funding resources.
The meeting was attended by Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority (EAA), Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-secretary of the Abu Dhabi crown Prince's Court and Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt.
