"This bond was further revealed after the recent terrorist attack in Kandahar, Afghanistan, which resulted in the death of a number of Emiratis while they were on a humanitarian mission for the Afghan people," he said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, while visiting those injured in the attack and their families.
Speaking about the attack, Sheikh Sultan said such crimes showed that "the UAE is one unified body and the leadership has reiterated that these incidents will not undermine the resolve of the Emiratis. Rather, such crimes will make our people stronger and that is what I recognised today."
The injured expressed their delight at Sheikh Sultan’s visit reflecting the UAE leadership’s support.
"The wise UAE leadership, namely, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates were proactive in expressing their appreciation at the sacrifices made by the Emirati people to defend their country and its firm values and principles," he said.
"Standing with their wise leadership to defend the flag of the UAE is not unusual for the great Emirati people. This is what we were taught by the founding fathers and by late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in particular," he added.
"All of us are ready to make sacrifices for the UAE and its leadership and land," Sheikh Sultan said.
He also prayed to God to bless the souls of the Emirati martyrs with mercy in Paradise and grant those injured speedy recovery.
