Sharjah24: Under the patronage and in the attendance of His Excellency Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah (UoS), the University’s Deanship of Female Students’ Affairs organised the orientation meeting for the new students 2019-2020. Prof.
Qutayba Hamid Al Heialy, Vice Chancellor for Medical Colleges and Health Sciences and Dean of College of Medicine, attended the meeting along with Dr. Salama Al Rahoomi, Dean of Female Students’ Affairs; as well as a number of College Deans and faculty and staff members. The meeting aims to introduce new students to the services of the University’s deanships and departments as well as its various facilities. It also aims to increase their awareness of the events and activities of the University that develop their skills during their academic journeys.

On this occasion, the Chancellor gave his welcoming address and relayed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah, as well as his wishes for their continued success in their academic journeys.

He stressed that His Highness established the University of Sharjah as a national development project and it has risen to the highest standings in the UAE in terms of its number of students, academic programs, and specialised research centers. He added that studying at the University is a transitional period filled with educational engagement and activities that refines the skills of the students. The University of Sharjah also, he concluded, is following His Highness’ directives of ensuring the development of its facilities to accommodate the educational process for students.

The University’s Marketing and Student Recruitment Department, the Sustainability Office, the Disability Resource Center, the Residences, Alumni Association, the University City Police, and University Student Board, participated in the meeting and showcased their services and facilities.
