University of Sharjah launches latest digital applications at Gitex

Sharjah24: The University of Sharjah, UoS, launched some of its latest smart applications that assist the academic community; faculty and administrative board members, UoS students and alumni, and the local community.
The University participated in Gitex Technology Week 2017 under the Sharjah Government pavilion, in collaboration with Sharjah eGovernment and under the patronage and following the directives of Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of University of Sharjah.

Attended the launch, Khawla Abdul Rahman Al Mulla, Chairperson of the Sharjah Consultative Council, Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al-Qasimi, Director-General of the Department of eGovernment in Sharjah, Dr. Salah Taher, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, and a number of faculty and administrative board members and students.

The Information Technology center unveiled the latest smart applications and programs developed last year, and gave an overview of UoS’ website and social media outlets. The department also launched the department of academic orientation, a voluntary program for information technology that offers consulting, training and technical support services to educational authorities, companies and institutions. UoS Alumni Association revealed its latest electronic services, showcased by its President, Eng. Ahmad Al Altunaiji. The new smart application provides a distinguished group of electronic services to UoS’ alumni such as, updating graduates’ information, job opportunities service, voluntary work, alumni’s rostrum, graduate’s affairs, brainstorming, alumni membership card and other privileges.

Khawla Abdul Rahman Al Mulla congratulated the University of Sharjah for launching its voluntary program in information technology, which is considered a strong addition and initiative by UoS to motivate volunteers to share their experience, return the favor to their university, contribute to the community service, and establish databases for all volunteers. Dr. Salah Taher asserted that UoS will contribute within the events of “Year of Giving” in launching a platform for voluntary work. This groundbreaking idea that was adopted by UoS, will be a model for providing social and voluntary services, and the core to even bigger initiatives that serve the local and international community.
