'Sharjah Virtual Rowing' to launch on Sunday

Sharjah 24: 'Sharjah Virtual Rowing' organised by Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), and in cooperation with Sharjah International Marine Sports Club (SIMSC), and Al Qudra Sports Management LLC (AQSM) to launch on Sunday, ninth of August 2020.
The event comes as part of the virtual events, that SSC holds to encourage the practice of sports, in light of the current precautionary and preventive measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

On this occasion, His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), announced that the number of participants reached around 100 from both sexes, since the opening of registration on 28th of July.

His Exellency maintained that the event comes as a new sports initiative to promote the habits of exercising, and to translate the directive of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), and their unlimited support to sports.

His Excellency added that SSC is eager to welcome more participants within the United Arab Emirates and outside, as registration period lasts until fourth of September through the website www.eevents.com//rowing, and following the guidelines of documenting the distance covered, 3000 metres, or the amount of time, 30 minutes, on the rowing device. After which, personal information are given on the dedicated page, no later than fifth of September, for participants to be honoured for taking part in the event.

His Excellency indicated that the initiative comes to promote sports, and encourage the public to exercise, pointing out that rowing devices are distributed in cooperation with 5 gyms to be able to document the participants achievements in the event, along with leaflets to widen the number of participations, especially among athletes.

His Excellency concluded by thanking all the cooperating parties from Sharjah International Marine Sports Club (SIMSC), and Al Qudra Sports Management LLC (AQSM), along with five gyms, hoping that more gyms cooperate in the event, to expand the number of participants, as such efforts play a huge role in the success of such events.
