Sharjah24: Nabil Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Organising Committee of Kalba Open Swimming Championship, praised the efforts of Sharjah Sports Council, Sharjah Internation Marine Sports Club, and the UAE Swimming Federation, and their unlimited support for the success of the championship.
In statements to "Sharjah 24", he said that the first edition of the championship achieved remarkable success at all levels, especially the mass attendance, the busy participation of swimmers, and the accuracy of the organisation.

He pointed out the importance of the championship in enhancing the tourism return of Kalba, with its great potentials represented in its picturesque nature and strategic location.

He explained that in coordination with the Sharjah Sports Council and UAE Swimming Federation, the tournament is scheduled to be held on a bi-annual basis, to be held twice per year.

Al Mazrouei mentioned the participation of about 300 swimmers from various emirates in the first edition of the championship, which included several age groups from 12 to 17 years, in addition to the professionals, noting that the winners of the competition were crowned with colorful medals and valuable in-kind gifts.
