During the visit, His Highness visited Sharjah’s pavilion ,represented by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), which participats at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
His Highness was accompanied by Ali Abdullah Al-Ahmad, UAE Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany; Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Information in Sharjah; Abdul Aziz Taryam, CEO Advisor and General Manager of Etisalat Northern Emirates; Ahmed Rakkad Al Ameri, Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority; Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director-General of the Sharjah Media Foundation; Rashid Mohammed Al Kous, Executive Director of the Emirates Publishers Association (EPA); and a number of Arab and foreign exhibitions’ directors, as well as several intellectual figures from around the world.
During touring Sharjah’s pavilion, His Highness inspected the participants' books that fall under the umbrella of the SBA, and was briefed by Ahmed Al Amiri on the main exhibits, including the latest versions of Al- Qasimi Publications, displayed at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
During the tour, Brigadier General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander in Chief of Sharjah Police, briefed His Highness on the most significant publications of Sharjah Police participating in Sharjah’s pavilion.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah was also briefed by Abdullah Mohammed Al Owais on the participation of the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information.
Among the participants in Sharjah’s pavilion were a large number of institutions, including Sharjah Publishing City and Kalimat Publishing Group, as well as many other institutions.
Sharjah is participating for the 19th year at this fair, which runs for more than 300 years, and considered one of the world’s oldest book fairs the largest event of the publishing industry.
During his tour, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah toured and inspected several pavilions participating at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2017, where he was briefed by a number of officials and dignitaries on the most important participations and initiatives of the institutions.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah also visited a group of Arab and foreign pavilions participating in the sixty-seventh edition of the Frankfurt Book Fair.
During His Highness's tour, the Ruler of Sharjah received a number of gifts, tributes and publications from various participating pavilions and publishing houses.
During his tour to many foreign and German publishing houses, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah visited OLMS’s pavilion, which is one of the prestigious publishing house that translated His Highness ‘s book entitled, “The Conflict between Power and Trade in the Gulf” into German.
Amidst great attendance of several German intellectuals and readers, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah inked his signature on the first copies of the book, for a large number of visitors
