Sharjah24: The Media and Public Relations Department at the Sharjah Police organised a 2-day interactive workshop entitled “Police Journalism” for the media coordinators at different police departments.
The remotely held workshop aims to discuss the concepts of journalism and media relations, in line with the vision and strategy of Sharjah Police and the ministry of Interior, of transparency and collaboration with the public.

The workshop tackled several aspects including Security journalism, types of journalistic styles, news distribution criteria and more.

The first session was presented by Dr. Mohammed Nasruldeen, professor of Journalism at the University of Sharjah, where he highlighted the importance of journalism and the best practices in utilising the available public communication tools.

He also explained the basic structure of content and style of published news, news format, and news briefings, amongst other aspects.

Presented by Captain Ahmed Al Ahmmadi, Head of Journalism Department at Sharjah Police, The second session discussed the security aspects of police journalism and the importance of fact checking, security issues, and stylistic approaches that lead to a successful and effective news reporting.
