Sharjah 24: The Social Education Department at Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), organised a package of various educational programmes that were offered through telecommunication platforms, to educate children, parents, employees and a number of university students, with the aim of promoting social awareness.
The number of programmes presented during the second quarter of this year reached 153 educational programmes, benefiting about 5,333 individuals from different groups of society, through telecommunication platforms represented by "Zoom" and "Microsoft Teams." In addition to, live broadcasts through SSSD's accounts on social networks, in order to benefit the public.

Mariam Al Qaseer, Director of Social Education Department at SSSD, highlighted that SSSD is keen to hold such programmes out of its plan and relentless pursuit to consolidate the values of societal awareness and the culture of protecting the rights of the child and raising awareness on their legally and socially guaranteed rights, as well as contributing to the spread of knowledge to community members with various skills to limit the spread of negative phenomena and their problems.

The Director of Social Education Department stressed that SSSD took advantage of the stay at home period to invest in the public’s spare time by offering programmes with topics that reflect the current condition of the COVID-19 pandemic, indicating that SSSD is also aim on providing various programmes in educating children with moral values, as well as programmes for parents, employees and members of society in general, adding that SSSD hope that different age groups benefit from such programmes.

It worthy of noting that SSSD participate in various societal and institutional activities, as it holds many awareness, preventive and development programmes, as well as direct awareness-raising workshops, lectures, and family counseling.
