The council’s strategy aims to serve the public interest and address the needs of citizens adopting a democracy that is based on the constituents of the Shura.
Al Mulla’s statement came in light of the SCC’s participation along with world parliaments in marking the International Day of Democracy on September 15.
Al-Mulla pointed out that the UAE has become an example of pride and a pioneering model in the democratic experiment and the sincere and serious national action that is being followed worldwide. She stressed that the success of the UAE democratic experiment is due to the wise leadership that has adopted the optimal and gradual method of citizens’ participation in the parliament, a move that led to important achievements in a few years that contributed to the renaissance and building of the nation and achieving the well-being of its citizens as well as the participation of all segments of the society - men and women- in decision-making.
Al-Mulla said: "The SCC will continue its march of giving which began more than seventeen years ago. SCC’s march has further developed thanks to the support of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to enable the Council to participate in the process of construction and development of the emirate addressing the concerns and needs of citizens.”
She added that the Council has paid great attention to citizens’ issues, especially the family, children and women, and gave them priority enhancing, in this regard, all initiatives launched by Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, to uphold the values of family bonding and social support and to preserve the family's ability to educate its members and fortify them against all threats and greed.
Khawla Al Mulla stressed that the SCC, thanks to this generous support of the wise leadership, the cooperation of the government agencies and institutions and the communication with the citizens, has established the most important principles of leadership participation in the national tasks and achieving the parliamentary purpose of establishing the Council to promote and activate the participation of all citizens in leading the national work and assuming its responsibilities.
