SEC adopts the draft law regulating the Environment and Protected Areas Authority

Sharjah24: Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, SEC, chaired meeting held, on Tuesday, at the Office of the Ruler in Sharjah.

SEC discussed several key issues regarding development of work systems in local departments and institutions to serve the UAE nationals and residents living in the Emirate of Sharjah.

The Council adopted a draft law regulating the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah, which aims to protect the environment and wildlife and its biodiversity in their natural environment and habitat, and achieve sustainable development in the field of environment and wildlife.

Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah, reviewed the items and articles of the draft law and its terms of reference.

Salem Mohammed Al Naqbi, head of the department of municipal affairs and agriculture, called for the need to find legal legislation that coincides with the development of the emirate.

The Council listened to Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) response to the recommendations of the Sharjah Advisory Council on the discussion of RTA's policy.

As part of the agenda meeting, SEC reviewed the decrees issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

SEC commended the achievement of the UAE Olympic champion Mohammed Al Qaid in the 100 meters, the "T34" wheelchairs in the World Cup Paralympics in London.

The Council expressed its sincere condolences on the death of the national team player and the Khorfakkan Club for the owners of Hamam Abdullah Hayahi, who died while preparing to participate in the World Athletics Championships.
