Sharjah24: Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) announced that it is ready and fully prepared to receive Eid Al Fitr according to the adopted precautionary measures and procedures in light of the conditions the world is witnessing at the present time.
SEDD is conducting intensified preventive measures and efforts during Eid Al Fitr occasion in order to preserve the health of society from the new Coronavirus (COVID-19 whereby such thing falls within the directives of the wise leadership in the Emirate of Sharjah.

Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department “SEDD”, congratulated the leadership of UAE and its people as well as its residents wishing them a good health and prosperity. He also stressed that the Department of Economic Development will continue to work according to its plan to secure the markets in Sharjah, through inspection campaigns that it carries out continuously.

Al Suwaidi carried on that such campaigns are carried out according to SEDD’s plans to enhance preventive and precautionary measures in Sharjah at the current circumstances, to include securing and visiting all food facilities and outlets, cafeteria, ladies and gentlemen salons, in addition to all other establishments which activities are essential during these special occasions.

Al Suwaidi pointed out that SEDD prepared and trained its cadres to be able to ensure the safety of society during Eid Al Fitr period. Such thing is adopted to ensure the commitment of all economic establishments to the application of precautionary and preventive measures and to ensure the level of commitment of all facilities to health measures, especially those related to manufacturing protective clothing for workers in these sectors. Also, it included the quantitative and numerical number of customers within these establishments and its proportionality to the total area and spacing between individuals, sterilization of commercial sites and concern for general hygiene.

On his part, Salim Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of Commercial Control and Protection Department at SEDD, emphasised on the necessity importance strict adherence to the approved instructions related to health safety requirements to prevent the outbreak of the new Coronavirus (COVID-19). He added that all establishments should adopt the rules of social divergence in Sharjah. Likely, he stated that SEDD will take all the needed inspection tours and actions to ensure the commitment of all economic establishments to apply all precautionary measures, given the expected increase in the number of shoppers from consumers, by intensifying the supervisory role of the Department in cooperation with the competent authorities.

Salim Al Suwaidi illustrated that SEDD intensified its efforts through control visits to hairdressing salons and beauty centres to ensure the extent of its commitment to applying precautionary and preventive measures at the level of hygiene, sterilization and cleansing properly. Also, it looked through their commitment and adherence to the divergence procedures and the application of health requirements and standards to preserve the health and safety of everyone. In addition, he stressed that SEDD will continue to carry out the inspection tours over the centres during the three days of the Eid holiday, in order to ensure that these establishments are still apply all the approved preventive standards. Furthermore, he affirmed that the Department has taken all necessary measures that guarantee the provision of its services in accordance with the best standards.
