Sharjah 24: As part of the series of initiatives organised by Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) in Sharjah, in synchronisation with Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, and in memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Wahat Al Rushd Centre organised charitable initiatives in Sudan.
These initiatives are organised in cooperation with Dar Al-Ber Society, which is concerned with the drilling of wells in Sudan and the printing of the Quran.
Amina Al-Rifai, director of Wahat Al Rushd Centre, said that one of the most important projects carried out by the society in Asian and African countries is the drilling of wells, which is of great importance and reward, as it provides pure water to families or entire neighbourhoods
Al-Rifai stressed that such initiatives by the Department translate the vision of the wise leadership, which aims to help those in need and the poor around the world .
She emphasised that the charitable initiatives that the Department is keen to highlight embody the values of brotherhood and giving in UAE society and the preservation of our customs and traditions.
